I played baseball, football, basketball, and I even wrestled until I had to choose just one winter sport. I love to be outdoors! I love hunting, fishing, hiking, anything that gets me outside and interacting with my environment. I also coach football in La Crescent, and work with many of the students over there in the weight room. I graduated with a degree in Exercise and Sport Science with a Fitness Emphasis from UW-L, and I hope to attend graduate school there starting in the summer of 2016. I have a passion for working with and around people who want to live an active, healthy lifestyle.

I always thought I lived an active and healthy lifestyle, which was true to a point. I worked out regularly, gave up soda just over 6 years ago now, and made it a point to eat at least three servings of fruits every day. The problem was, I supplemented those healthy habits with pizza, spaghetti, sandwiches, and yes even beer (I am from Wisconsin after all). Even with all these food choices, I felt and looked healthy. It wasn’t until I started at Eupraxia in January of 2015 that I realized how poorly I had been taking care of my body. After working with and talking with Dr. Steve and Lindsay, I began to understand that health has so much more to do than looking good and working out regularly; I started to eat better, and before long I noticed how much more rested I felt, how much more energy I had even after a really hard workout session, and that I just seemed to be a happier person throughout the day.

Before starting at Eupraxia, I never would have been caught dead working out in a class with other people of all different ages and sizes. Now, I couldn’t imagine not working out side by side with all of the amazing people I have gotten to know over the last year. Working out in a group setting holds me accountable to show up on days where I don’t think I have the energy, makes me push to use maybe a slightly larger weight or get in that extra repetition, and provides a kind of support group where we are all there with the same goal of being as healthy and fit as possible. I enjoy each and every hour I spend with our members. I love learning about who they are, what they do, why they’re there, and how far they’ve come since they started. My life has changed so much in the last year, and I am thankful every day for all of the experiences and lessons I have learned since starting at Eupraxia, and I can’t wait to see everyone tonight for some kickboxing!
